Iwacu
Burundi's leading independent news organisation, founded in 2008 by journalist Antoine Kaburahe in Bujumbura. The Iwacu press group publishes a French-language weekly and a continuously updated website with Kirundi and English content, and has kept professional, critical reporting alive through the country's repeated political crises despite arrests of its journalists and heavy official pressure.
