Pasaxon

Pasaxon, meaning 'The People', is the central organ of the ruling Lao People's Revolutionary Party and one of Laos's principal daily newspapers. Published in Lao from Vientiane, it carries party directives, government policy coverage and national news, and its front page reflects the official line in a country where all media operate under state control.

Is Pasaxon left-leaning, right-leaning or centrist?

Pasaxon is positioned toward the editorial center of Laos' media spectrum, or its orientation is mixed or not consistently classified by the major media-bias assessments. Crosswire groups Laos outlets into left, center and right so you can read the same day's events from more than one vantage point: seeing Pasaxon beside outlets of a different orientation makes editorial choices — which stories lead, which framing is used, what gets omitted — far easier to spot than reading any single source alone.

Leanings shown on Crosswire are approximate editorial orientations drawn from widely cited media-bias assessments (such as AllSides, Ad Fontes Media and Media Bias/Fact Check) and from each outlet's reputation. They are offered to help you read the same story from different perspectives — not as definitive or exhaustive judgements. Where a confident rating was unavailable, an outlet is shown as centrist.
